Non-Nevada Residents/Out-of-State

Don't live in Nevada?
Many people living outside Las Vegas get arrested on Las Vegas DUI charges and have the following concerns:

Do I have to return to Las Vegas to meet with or retain a DUI Attorney?
No.
Las Vegas DUI Attorney Donohue can discuss your case with you on the phone and then all the paperwork can be exchanged either by mail, email or facsimile. Once he obtains the police reports, lab reports and other documentation in the case, he will arrange a phone conversation with you to discuss the reports together and plan a defensive strategy.

Will I have to return to Las Vegas for my DUI court date?
Usually not.
Attorney Donohue can appear in court on your behalf in misdemeanor DUI cases and can attempt to get the charges reduced or dismissed. If a plea bargain is reached, it can be executed through the mail. If a trial is in your best interest, then you will probably have to return to Las Vegas for the trial. For felony DUI, please call.

If my driver’s license gets revoked in Nevada, how will that affect my driving privileges in my home state?
The Nevada DMV can only revoke your driving privileges in Nevada.
However, the Nevada DMV will probably report the revocation to the DMV or Department of Transportation in your home state. This is pursuant to the Interstate Compact Act. This may or may not cause your home state to revoke your driving privileges. You will probably have to take affirmative steps to re-instate your driving privileges in Nevada with the Nevada DMV before you will be able to renew your license in your home state.
